On my 3rd day of trying I finally caught up with the Willow Emeralds that Dave Ball had found the previous week in the MVCP boardwalk pond.

20th August 2016

I was woken up in Abingdon by a call about 9am saying Steven Northwood had found a Little Bitten on the MVCP Pillinge, the first Country record for about 100 years! I arrived in the Pillinge hide about 11.15am to hear the bird had flown into a reed bed to the right of the hide about 10.30am so I settled in to wait for it to re-appear with Dave Ball. Fortunately, it did, but not until about 4.30pm and I eventually saw it 3 times that afternoon.
